Dairy Days This Weekend
Pageants will dominate the first day and evening of this weekend’s Dairy Days celebration in Norris City.
The annual fall festival will get underway at 4 Friday afternoon, when the Arts & Crafts show at the Indian Creek Township Building gets underway. The Norris City Museum will open at 4. Both the museum and craft show will close at 8 Friday evening’
Carnival rides provided by Mofield Little Egypt Rides will open and 5 and close at 10. Arm bands will only be available Friday night. Cakewalks will also begin at 5, sponsored by the American Legion Ladies. The cakewalks will be in front of the festival stage.
Friday evening’s event will get underway at 6:30 when the NCOE Jazz Band takes the stage.
And then the pageants get underway at 7. That includes the Baby Contest, Miss and Mr Tot, Princess and Queen contest. The Jr. Miss will be held during the intermission of the Queen contest.
Saturday is a full day in Norris City beginning with biscuits and gravy at the Lions Club Building from 7:30 until 10.
The Walk in Faith will begin at 8 at the high school. The Warren McKenzie Memorial Washer Pitching will begin at 9 at the lot behind Doug’s The Arts & Craft Show will run from 10 until 4 in the township building Saturday.
The kid and pet parade lineup will begin at 9:15 with the parade set for 10. There will be kids games and cakewalks following the morning parade. There will be a Cornhole tournament beginning at noon and the carnival rides will open at noon. The NCOE High School Council will take the stage at noon. The museum will be open from 2 until 5 and then reopen at 6 until 9.
The big parade will begin to line up at the high school at 2. Parade judging will begin at 4 with the 72nd annual Dairy Days parade to start at 5.
This year’s Saturday night entertainment will be Jet Black and the Cadillacs. The group will entertain from 7 until 10. The Dairy Days community drawings will be conducted about 9 during the Jet Black show.
