Fatal Crash Reported in Saline County
Illinois State Police responded to a single vehicle crash in Saline County Thursday night that left a Stonefort, Ill resident dead.
According to the preliminary investigation, Brandi K. Bennett, 46 of Stonefort was driving a Ford Ranger pickup southbound on Ernest Road, just north of Thomas Road, when for some unknown reason, she left the roadway. The Bennett vehicle crashed into a ditch and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof.
Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Saline County Coroner.
A passenger in the truck, 38 year old Travis E. Conley of New Burnside refused medical treatment at the scene.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Department, Saline County Ambulance Service, Saline County Coroner’s Office, Eldorado Fire Department and Jone’s Towing Service assisted state police at the crash site.
