THE DAIRY DAYS STAGE COMMITTEE MET LAST MONTH AND DISCUSSED THE POSSIBLITY OF ERECTING A PERMENANT STRUCTURE. THE COMMITTEE WILL MEET AGAIN THIS MONTH TO DISCUSS IT FURTHER.
THE VILLAGE IS LOOKING AT PUTTING UP SIGNS AT BOTH ENDS OF TOWN WELCOMING VISITORS TO NORRIS CITY AND IS LOOKING AT COMING UP WITH VARIOUS DESIGNS.
DALE PARK NOW HAS TWO NEW PICNIC TABLES AND TWO NEW PARK BENCHES.

THE BOARD GAVE PAUL BLACK OF “LIVING THE ADVENTURE” MINISTRIES PERMISSION TO HOLD A 5K RUN FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH. REGISTRATION IS AT 5:30 PM WITH THE RUN TO START AT 6:45. PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE GROUP’S MINISTRIES IN HAITI AND AROUND THE WORLD.
MIKE HITE WAS GIVEN THE GO-AHEAD TO BE REIMBURSED FOR HIS HOTEL ROOM AND EXPENSES TO ATTEND THE ILLINOIS PORTABLE WATER OPERATIONS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE IN SPRINGFIELD SEPTEMBER 12TH THROUGH THE 14TH.
SEVERAL RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN SENT LETTERS TO CLEAN UP YARDS, ABANDONED CARS AND TRACTORS, ETC. BEFORE DAIRY DAYS. THERE HAS BEEN SOME COMPLIANCE WITH OTHERS STILL IN PROGRESS.
IN THE POLICE REPORT FOR AUGUST, THERE WERE FIVE REPORTS WRITTEN AND NINE 9-1-1 CALLS. NORRIS CITY SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT VOLLMAN REQUESTED MORE POLICE PRESENCE WHEN POSSIBLE SINCE THERE IS NO SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER AS OF YET. OFFICER DALE IS AT THE GRADE SCHOOL AT LEAST FOUR DAYS A WEEK IN THE MORNINGS FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES AND CHIEF THARP IS AT OR NEAR THE HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MORNINGS DURING LUNCHES AND AFTERNOON DISMISSALS ON MOST DAYS.
IN THE ANIMAL CONTROL REPORT, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH STRAY CATS IN TOWN. THERE IS AN ORDINANCE THAT NO ONE CAN OWN MORE THAN THREE CATS AND THE VILLAGE WILL HAVE TO START ENFORCING THE ORDINANCE.
