White County Ambulance Director Adam Allen reports that effective as of Midnight, the service has been downgraded from Advanced Life Support to Basic Life Support. He says it’s due to low staffing.
The Ambulance Service last saw a change in designation back in February of 2017. That designation took the WCAS from Intermediate Life Support to Advanced by joining the Deaconess EMS System. Some are now saying entering that agreement is responsible for the predicament the ambulance service finds itself in now.
We’ll visit with Director Adam Allen soon and discuss the future. If you have questions you’d like us to ask.
