There’s new Royalty at the 140th White County Fair. 10 Little Miss, 5 Jr Miss and 6 Queen contestants squared off at the 2018 pageant.
7 year old Carly Digman is the new White County Little Miss, taking over for Ella Carter. She is a member of the Southern Illinois Showstoppers baton team, loves the movie Trolls, playing Tag and has a dog and a turtle as pets.
The 2018 Junior Miss is the highly accomplished 12 year old Laney York. No stranger to winning fair pageants, York was also crowned the 2015 Little Miss Merry Christmas, and was the 2017 Little Miss Corn Day. She takes over for the 2017 queen, Haylea Allen who will be able to go for the elusive three-fer in a handful of years. She was also a Little Miss winner at a previous White County Fair.
20 year old Chaselyn Craig took home two awards Monday night…the first for Miss Congeniality. Craig also serves as the 2nd runner up. 18 year old Paige Clore just graduated from NCOE High School and won 1st runner up. The 2018 White County Fair Queen is 20 year old Sidney Bingman of Carmi. She’ll enter her 3rd year at USI this fall where she’s majoring in Psychology. She plans to get a Masters in Social Work and includes as a career goal becoming a traveling speaker for Domestic Violence Awareness and a Domestic Violence Counselor. Her Speech centered around her love of baking and we’ll get a chance to hear from all 3 of our new queens Tuesday morning. Jc will have an interview with all 3 young ladies and we’ll have highlights from that in a later newscast.
