In Gallatin County Circuit Court on Wednesday, a former Shawneetown man was found guilty of three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child following a two day jury trial.
45 year old George Bivens was convicted of the three Class X felonies after it was alleged that he assaulted a child under the age of 13 three times between 1999 and 2004 in Gallatin County. The case was investigated by the Illinois State Police and prosecuted by States Attorney Doug Dyhrkopp.
Bivens will be sentenced by Judge Thomas Foster on July 16th. He is currently housed in the White County Jail.
