Educational Evenings: Responding to the Opioid Crisis in Our Community

Hospice of Southern Illinois is hosting Educational Evenings and Dinner Too focusing on the Opioid Crisis in Our Community on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois (10400 Terminal Drive #200, Marion, IL) featuring Keynote Speaker, Brandon Zanotti, Williamson County State’s Attorney. A $10 registration includes dinner and the educational program. Registration and dinner is 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The educational program is 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This event is open to the public and CE credits are available to some disciplines. Keynote speaker, Brandon Zanotti, Williamson County State’s Attorney, will identify the impact of the opioid crisis on the community and explain measures that are being taken to combat the opioid crisis. Additionally, speaker, Dr. Andrea Quigley, Clinical Manager of Centerstone of Illinois, will discuss treatment solutions and benefits. Speaker, Dr. Amanda Daniels, PGY2 Pharmacy Resident, from Hospice of Southern Illinois, will discuss benefits of opioid use in end-of-life care. 2 Illinois CEs are available to: Nurses, Social Workers, and Nursing Home Administrators provided by Hospice of Southern Illinois. Further, 0.5 Illinois CPEs are available to Pharmacists, provided by SIUE School of Pharmacy. The importance of this event spans beyond our local community. The first step, however, lies in programs like this one. Seeking education and understanding the impact locally and nationally is a response to the crisis. We appreciate your involvement.
