Carmi Police make two arrests in connection to recent burglaries

Carmi Police executed a search warrant Monday afternoon to locate items stolen in two different burglaries.  At 2:30 pm, the search of 811 Shipley Street turned up several stolen items as well as numerous illegal drug items.  Officers seized several marijuana plants, cannabis, smoking pipes, prescription pills, and methamphetamine.

As a result, 25 year old Jedidiah Johnson and 55 year old Mark Johnson were both arrested at the residence.  Each has been charged with possession of stolen property, burglary, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and production of cannabis plants.  They were also cited for possession of less than ten grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Jedidiah Johnson and Mark Johnson were transported to the White County Jail and are being held without bond pending a court hearing.
