Carmi Police arrested 26 year old Emilee Duckworth of Carmi Tuesday night after she was observed in the White County Jail visitation room. Duckworth was known to be wanted on a Hamilton County warrant for failure to appear on a DUI charge. Duckworth was taken into custody at 6:39 pm and was released after posting a $300 bond.
A traffic accident Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of a Carmi man for DUI. At 6:52 pm, officers responded to a collision at Main Street and Industrial Drive and found that 63 year old Robert Whitler had rear ended another vehicle. Whitler agreed to perform field sobriety test and later submitted a breath test. Whitler was arrested for DUI of alcohol and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was transported to the White County Jail and is being held pending the posting of bond.
