Fairfield Memorial Hospital to host PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Training:
Fairfield Memorial Hospital will hold the next Pediatric Advanced Life Support class on April 5th at 9 a.m. The cost is $30 for the PALS course. Should a CPR card be needed, there will be an additional $10 charge. These classes will be held in the Medical Arts Complex Education Room. If you would like to learn more or register for the course, please contact Deb Spillman, CMSRN, FMH Clinical Practice Coordinator, at 618-847-8241. Upcoming scheduled dates for Advanced Cardiac Life Support ($30 class fee): May 1st, July 9th, September 5th, and November 7th. Future class dates for Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes are as follows: June 5th, August 2nd, October 29th, and December 5th. Please register one week prior to class, if possible.
CPR Classes:
Fairfield Memorial Hospital holds CPR Classes monthly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 9:30a.m in the 2nd Floor Education Room in the Hospital. These classes are offered free to FMH employees and the public. To pre-register, call 618-847-8367. This month’s CPR class is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4th.
Multiple Sclerosis Support Group:
The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group will meet Saturday, April 7th from 11 a.m. – Noon, located in the Harlan Yates Board Room located in the FMH Medical Arts Complex. The MS Support Group meets the first Saturday of each month. For more information regarding these monthly support group meetings, call 618-847-8362.
3-D Mammography Mobile Event:
Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be bringing it’s 3-D Mobile Mammography Truck to Carmi, Illinois, on Saturday, April 7th starting at 8am at the Egyptian Health Department. No physician order needed for those who are over the age of 40. It must have been at least one year since your last Mammogram. Patients are asked to bring their insurance card, photo ID, and doctor’s contact information. This event is for annual screening Mammograms only. Individuals can call the FMH Diagnostic Imaging Department at 618-847-8249 to secure an appointment with one of FMH’s skilled technologists. Walk-Ins are also welcome but patients are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment to ensure you are seen that day.
Cancer Care Support Group:
Fairfield Memorial Hospital hosts a Cancer Support Group meeting on Thursday, April 12th from 6-7 p.m. in the Medical Arts Complex Education Room. Support Group meetings are open to the public.
Fairfield Memorial Hospital Horizon Healthcare Cisne Medical Clinic Open House
Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be holding an Open House at the new Horizon Healthcare Cisne Medical Clinic on Tuesday, April 17th from Noon to 4p.m. The community is invited to come in and enjoy a tour of the clinic, meet the providers who will be taking care of them, and enjoy refreshments. We will be giving out several door prizes to attendees and one grand prize winner will receive a YETI cooler.
Coffee Club:
Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions will hold the next Coffee Club from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 19th. The Coffee Club will meet at the Fairfield Elks Lodge and is open to older adults.
Diabetes Support Group:
Join FMH on Thursday, April 19th at 4pm in the FMH Medical Arts Complex Education Room for the Diabetes Support Group Meeting. Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Certified Diabetes Educator, Stephen Welty, RN, CDE, will lead a discussion on the preventing or limiting complications from Diabetes.

Fairfield Memorial Hospital will also be holding a Reduced Cost Lab Testing day on Saturday, April 21st from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Horizon Healthcare Cisne Medical Clinic. No appointment needed.

Fundraising Raffle – Cardinals versus Cubs Baseball Tickets for June 16th:
Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be raffling off four tickets to the Cardinals versus Cubs baseball game on June 16th at 7:15pm in St. Louis, Missouri. The tickets are for four seats in the Infield Field Box, Section 159, Row 18, (valued at $761) to be given away June 8th at Noon. Raffle tickets are one for $5.00 or 6 for $25.00. Tickets can be purchased in Administration, Monday thru Friday from 8am-5pm, and in the Hospital Admitting Department, from 7am-8pm daily, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital starting April 6th.
