Illinois State Police District 19 investigated a single vehicle traffic accident in White County Monday night that sent a Galatia man to the hospital with injuries.
According to the preliminary crash report, at 10:15 pm 60 year old Daniel Stidman was driving west on Route 141 when he apparently fell asleep, causing his pickup to hit an embankment on the north side of the road and overturn several times before crossing both lanes of traffic and come to rest in a ditch on the south side of the road.
Stidman was transported by Deaconess Ambulance Service to a local hospital. He was cited for improper lane usage.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Omaha Fire Department, and the Norris City Fire Department.
