Two men sentenced in Gallatin County Court on Monday

On Monday, December 11, 2017 in Gallatin County Circuit Court two individuals arrested and charged in November were sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Jason D. Patton of Shawneetown, IL pleaded guilty to Unlawful Use of Cannabis Based Product Manufacturing Equipment under a negotiated plea agreement Monday in front of Judge Thomas Foster. Patton was sentenced to a term of three-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a two-year term of parole to be served upon his release. Patton was also ordered to pay court costs, fees, and assessments. Under the agreement, Patton admitted to possession of butane gas cartridges and butane hash oil generators; pieces of equipment and gas necessary to produce butane hash oil or BHO, a concentrated THC cannabis based oil or wax.

Joseph Flahardy of Ridgway, IL also entered a plea of guilty under a negotiated plea agreement for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. Flahardy admitted to having over 5 grams but under 15 grams of methamphetamine in his possession with the intent to deliver it for sale. Flahardy was sentenced to a term of five-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a two-year term of parole to be served upon his release. Flahardy was also ordered to pay court costs, fees, and assessments. Additionally, $618 in cash seized from Flahardy at the time of his arrest was forfeited to the Gallatin County Drug Fund and the Ridgway Drug Fund for enforcement efforts.

The Ridgway Police Dept., Gallatin County Sheriff’s Dept., and Shawneetown Police Dept. all assisted one another in the investigation of these cases and execution of the search and arrest warrants. The cases were prosecuted by the Gallatin County State’s Attorney Doug Dyhrkopp.
