Two sentenced in Gallatin Co. Court on Monday

On Monday, November 27, 2017 in Gallatin County Circuit Court two individuals arrested and charged earlier this month were sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Rachel Lynch of Shawneetown, IL pleaded guilty to Unlawful Use of a Debit Card under a negotiated plea agreement Monday in front of Judge Thomas Foster. Lynch was sentenced to a term of five-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a one-year term of parole to be served upon her release. Lynch was also ordered to pay court costs, fees, and assessments.

Samatha Flahardy of Ridgway, IL also entered a plea of guilty under a negotiated plea agreement for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Deliver. Flahardy admitted to having over 5 grams but under 15 grams of methamphetamine in her possession with the intent to deliver it for sale. Flahardy was sentenced to a term of five-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a two-year term of parole to be served upon her release. Flahardy was also ordered to pay court costs, fees, and assessments. Additionally, $1,024 in cash seized from Flahardy at the time of her arrest was forfeited to Gallatin County.

The Ridgway Police Dept., Gallatin County Sheriff’s Dept., and Shawneetown Police Dept. all assisted one another in the investigation of these cases and execution of the search and arrest warrants. The cases were prosecuted by the Gallatin County State’s Attorney Doug Dyhrkopp.
