Sauls shoots way to two championships at Mississippi College

Bradford Sauls, a 2016 graduate from NCOE, participated in the USA Archery Collegiate 3-D National Championship held in Foley, Alabama October 27 thru 29.
Bradford shoots archery representing Mississippi College.  Sauls shot his way to 2 National titles and a 2nd place finish.  Bradford placed first in the Men’s Compound/Open class beating out some of the best college archers in the nation.  First in the Mixed Team Compound/Open along side Emily Hootsel from Natchez, Mississippi.  A second place finish in the Men’s Compound/Open Team with John Stanford and Emily Hootsel, behind Southeastern Illinois College.

ASA (Archery Shooters Association) partnered with USA Archery to put on the event.
Archery Shooters Association National Director Laval Dee Falks was also enthusiastic about the success of the event. He commented: “ASA is excited and proud to be partnering with USA Archery on these different events, especially on the 3-D side, because we are the most expert organization in the U.S. and the world in conducting 3-D archery tournaments. The tourism commission and sports council in Foley, Alabama is fully behind supporting this event and has welcomed us to return for future events.”
Compound men’s national champion Bradford Sauls agreed: “Mississippi College was very excited about coming to the first ever USA Archery 3-D Championship. I am very impressed at how smooth and efficient the tournament was run. The atmosphere throughout the entire tournament was unparalleled to other tournaments Mississippi College has attended. I am very proud of the performance of my teammates and we are very excited for future USA Archery events.”

Thirteen colleges and university archery teams made the trek to Foley, AL for the tree-day event, including archers from Georgia Tech, West Virginia University, Michigan State, Southeastern Illinois College, Hocking College, Emmanuel College, Penn College, Mississippi College, Lamar University, James Madison University, Alfred State, Augusta University and Appalachian State.
