On Sunday, the Mt. Carmel Police Department arrested a father and daughter on charges they sold prescription pills in and around the Mt. Carmel area.
Police arrested 58 year old Thomas L. Hammond and 40 year old Christina J. Barrett on warrants charging them with criminal drug conspiracy after police were called to their residence in reference to a disturbance.
The arrest of Hammond and Barrett is a result of a lengthy narcotics investigation conducted by the Mt. Carmel Police Department, who are expected to make more arrests in the next few weeks.
Barrett is being held at the Wabash County Jail on a $3,000 cash bond and a $200.00 cash bond out of Edwards County. Hammond is being held pending the posting of $1,000 cash.
