In Edwards County Court Friday, 58 year old Mark Mewes of West Salem was sentenced to three years in prison on one count of domestic battery. Following incarceration, Mewes will be under mandatory supervised release for four years, and he was ordered to pay all costs of the proceedings, and was ordered to have no contact with his victims.
30 year old Levi Fisk of Grayville received a four and a half year sentence in Illinois Department of Corrections custody on one count of residential burglary. As a result of a plea agreement, another count against Fisk was dropped, and Fisk was ordered to pay the costs of the case as well as make $810 in restitution to his victim. Fisk’s sentence will run concurrent to a separate sentence out of Jefferson County.
States Attorney Eric St. Ledger prosecuted both cases, which were presided over by Judge Michael Valentine.
