Two convicted in White County Court on Wednesday

Two men were sentenced to prison in White County Court on Wednesday according to White County States Attorney Denton Aud.

37 year old Justin Simpson of Ridgeway received a five year term on one count of delivery of methamphetamine and a two year sentence on a charge of driving while license revoked.  The two sentences will run consecutive to each other, and Simpson will be under mandatory supervised release for two years following incarceration.

The meth charge comes after an investigation by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, and the Enfield Police Department was the arresting agency on the license charge.

29 year old Jacob Garrett of Claremont was sentenced to three years in Illinois Department of Corrections custody on one count of obstructing justice in a case investigated by the White County Sheriff’s Department.  Following incarceration, Garrett will be under mandatory supervised release for one year, and he was ordered to pay all mandated fines, fees, costs, and assessments.

Both Garrett and Simpson were represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle and were sentenced by Judge T Scott Webb.
