Summer is here and it has made its presence known with the rising heat indexes. In order to help cope with the high temperatures, Hamilton Memorial Hospital is offering its air conditioned facilities and cold water to folks that need a place to take a break.
Heat exhaustion and dehydration can strike at any time while participating in activities outside during the hot summer months. Symptoms for heat-related illnesses include: excessive thirst, headache, nausea & vomiting, dizziness, rapid heart rate, weakness, loss of consciousness, muscle cramps, confusion and fatigue.
