Illinois State Police District 19 troopers investigated a single vehicle accident in Saline County Sunday night.
According to the preliminary crash report, 55 year old Donna Bowlby of Galatia was driving north on Payne Road north of Cedar Point Road at 10:05 pm, when she left the roadway, struck a ditch, traveled through a cornfield, and came to rest in the ditch.
Bowlby, who was wearing her seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital by the Saline County Ambulance Service for injuries received in the crash. She has been charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper lane usage.
