IECC students continue to be satisfied with services provided by the colleges, according to the latest student satisfaction survey, with survey questions included in the areas of Communication, Student Services, Instruction, Technology and recommending the college to others. Results included:
96% were satisfied with Advisement Services.
93% were satisfied with Financial Aid Services.
96% were satisfied with Help Desk services.
95% were satisfied with the Quality of Instruction.
97% felt the instruction was academically challenging.
97% would recommend the college to others.
The results of the survey were accepted at the regular meeting Tuesday, May 16, at Frontier Community College, Fairfield and are now shared with various district wide committees as well as college committees to work on improving any area that needs attention.
The oath of office was administered to James Lane, who will fill the vacancy on the Board of Trustees created with the March 21stresignation of Trustee Michael Correll. Trustee Lane, of Robinson, will serve until the next regular consolidated election in April 2019.
An updated Distance Delivery Education Plan was approved by the Board of Trustees. The IECC Board of Trustees recognizes the importance of an institutional strategy and structure to support and promote district-wide distance delivery opportunities.
Dual Credit agreements outlining requirements for juniors and seniors to receive both high school and college credit for certain courses were approved with all 16 district high schools.
In order to remain in compliance with federal regulations governing grants and requirements of the Higher Learning Commission, trustees adopted a policy for reporting fraud, and protection from retaliation for reporters.
A change in testing fees from a set fee to the actual cost was approved for programs in Health Information Management, Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician.
A meal plan program was approved to be utilized at the college’s food service facilities.
A policy was approved for revisions to the Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources Policy to reflect current practices.
Ten affiliation agreements with area health care institutions were approved dealing with the Pharmacy Technician, Electronic Medical Records, and Certified Medical Assistant Program at Lincoln Trail College.
Megan Bunnage was employed as Nursing Instructor at Wabash Valley College, effective August 10, 2017. Beth Wilson was employed as Nursing Instructor at Frontier, effective August 10, 2017.
Employment status of Tyler Browning, was changed from Director of Academic Advising & Recruitment at Lincoln Trail College to Sports Management Instructor at Lincoln Trail College, effective August 10, 2017. A change in employment was also approved for Tina Evans, Custodian at Olney Central College to Lead Custodian at Olney Central College, effective May 22, 2017. A resignation ratification was approved for Chad Noble, Information System Technician at Frontier, effective May 29, 2017.
Next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees will be Tuesday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at Lincoln Trail College, Robinson.
