The Carmi Kiwanis Club heard from Tammy Rahmoeller on Thursday. Rahmoeller, Manager of Supportive Living of Wabash, was introduced by Sandra Bryant.
Rahmoeller is helping facilitate a six week Live Well, Be Well Class for those living with chronic health conditions along with Katie Duvall of Egyptian Health Department. The class will meet each Monday from May to June 16 and will meet at Supportive Living of Wabash. The class will help participants meet individual health goals and is open to all ages.
Rahmoeller also answered several questions from the Club about Supportive Living of Wabash. She welcomed those wanting more information, or desiring a tour, to contact her. There are currently openings at Supportive Living of Wabash which has a total of 43 apartments.
Supportive Living of Wabash offers residents three meals a day, housekeeping services as well as assistance with personal care and medications. They have an in house beauty shop. They offer on site podiatry services, x-ray, lab and EKG. In addition, therapists from Wabash Christian Therapy and Medical Clinic provide therapy to patients in need of speech, physical and occupation therapy. There are also medical providers who call on patients at Supportive Living.
On Tuesdays, residents are provided transportation for shopping. A variety of activities are also offered to residents, including a trip to New Harmony and the Kentucky Opry in the summer.
In club business, filling in for President Jeremy Jordan, First Vice President Holly Healy reminded the club that volunteers are needed to help with the Corn Day Car Show. She also noted that Jordan is planning to make a special Corn Day announcement at next week’s meeting.
