Hamilton Memorial Hospital District would like to thank all of the kind photographers who sent in their photos for the photo contest.
75 photos were voted on by hospital employees and the top 6 were chosen to be displayed in the newly remolded quiet room. “This used to be a dark room that not many people noticed as they walked through our lobby. We wanted to create a space for visitors and patients where they felt comfortable and welcome”, Says HMHD CEO, Greg Sims.
The photo contest was a great opportunity to showcase the amazing talent that can be found around the county. These photos will create a comfortable and familiar place for patients and visitors to spend their time while at the hospital.
Coming in 1st and 6th place was Jason Hall of McLeansboro, IL. Jason is a teacher at Hamilton County Senior High and in his free time he takes photos of various sporting and school events, as well as other events and scenery around the county. Jason’s first place photo, with 29 votes, captured a stunning shot of Knights Prairie Church.
With photos coming in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place, is 15 year old Zeppelin Wade. Zeppelin is from Dahlgren, IL and a freshman at Hamilton County Senior High.
“It was amazing to hear how excited Zeppelin’s mom, Amy was when I gave her the news that several of her daughter’s photos were chosen to be displayed”, says HMHD Marketing Manager and contest coordinator, Michele Bivins. Zeppelin looks to pursue an education and possibly a career in photography when she is finished with high school. With a strong eye for amazing shots, there is no doubt she will succeed!
The six photos from around the county create an image of what Hamilton County is all about, faith, hard work, patriotism and beautiful scenery. Hamilton Memorial strives to create events to include the community in the different aspects of the hospital. The photo contest did just that, as Jason and Zeppelin will be recognized for years to come while visitors and patients take in the beautiful art created by talented Hamilton County natives.
