Fairfield Memorial Hospital annual volunteer recognition and awards dinner

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Fairfield Memorial Hospital honored Volunteers for their service by hosting the Annual Volunteer Recognition and Awards Dinner Monday, April 17. The event was held in the Fellowship Hall of the Fairfield First United Methodist Church. Dinner was prepared and served by the Methodist Men’s Group of the church. Spring colors and daffodils were used as table decoration.

Charlotte St. Ledger, Coordinator of Volunteers, welcomed the Volunteers.

She then introduced Dr. Paul Bruinsma and wife Lacey who presented a power point on the history of tap dancing and concluded with a tap dancing performance on stage.

Prior to dinner being served, a moment of silence in remembrance of Delman Bradshaw was held, followed by David Savage giving the invocation.

Following dinner, Charlotte introduced the Administrative Staff and the Auxiliary Officers & Committee Chairs. She then introduced new Auxiliary members in 2016, Judy Wilson, Bethany McLane, Dennis Enochs, Tim Smith and Ellie Venable.

Charlotte then invited Dana Shantel Taylor, FMH Director of Organizational Development, to come forward to assist with award presentations. Cumulative hour awards were presented to the following:

100 Hour Pin & Bar – Gayala Blackford, Janet Brant, Ray Duke, Teresa Hill, Cynthia Sheraden, Margot Young, Judy Wilson

500 Hour Bar – Charlene Carter, Lorna Norton, Evelyn Doty, Denise Beehn

1,000 Hour Bar – Joy Coles, Richard Delsing, David Land, Eva Lane

1,500 Hour Bar – Judy Griswold, Vivian Struble, Karlene Worley

2,000 Hour Bar – Robert Morse, Anita Newcomb

2,500 Hour Bar – Judy Jelley, Marlene Rogers, Opal Warren

3,000 Hour Bar – Don Brake, Pat Vaughan

4,500 Hour Bar – Dwight Reever

Charlotte also gave special recognition to Timothy Smith for leading the volunteer environmental beautification clean-up and presented to him a special gift.

Following the awards presentation, Dana Shantel Taylor, FMH Director of Organizational Development, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the many hours of service and assistance the Volunteers provide to the Fairfield Memorial Hospital & the Medical Arts Complex.

As a token of appreciation, FMH’s Administration gave $360 of cash in various increments, as door prizes to those Volunteers lucky enough to have their name drawn.
