Multiple Projects Planned for I-69 Corridor in Evansville This Spring

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for I-69 in Evansville the Lynch Road interchange.

Beginning on or around Friday March 31, contractors will begin work on multiple I-69 bridges from the Olmstead Road Crossing to Covert Avenue. Crews will restrict one lane of traffic in either direction beginning with the southbound driving lane as a part of a project to perform concrete patching and pavement overlay on the bridges in that stretch. Work will then move in the sequence of northbound right lane, southbound passing lane, northbound passing lane. Motorists may also see intermittent closures in both the north and southbound lanes at the same time, as crews work pave the bridge deck while patching operations are performed on the opposite side.

Restrictions will be in place around the clock with work zone speed limits reduced. Once contractors have completed this project, they will perform the same work on bridges north of this location. This project is part of a multi-phase project on I-69 from I-64 to U.S. 41. Workers will be present until this fall performing various operations along the corridor.

Other operations include patching and joint sealing on several interchanges including Morgan Avenue, Boonville New-Harmony Road and I-64. Drivers will also see lane restrictions later this summer for mainline concrete patching.  Motorists are urged to slow down, be aware of workers in the work zone and eliminate distractions while driving.
