In efforts to continue supporting the hospital in improving safety and services, the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has purchased a Stryker TC Transport Chair to be used in Radiology, ER & Urgent Care.  This special transport chair will assist staff in safely transporting patients around the facility who may need the features offered by this transport chair.

The FMH Auxiliary also recently donated $12,000 toward the purchase of a Dual Head CT Injector for Diagnostic Imaging.  The new Mallinckrodt Optivantage Dual Head CT Injector allows technologists to administer contrast at a more appropriate dose based off of dosage amount set by the Clinical Radiologist protocol and type of scan being performed.  Following the injection with a saline flush is a nice feature that provides the technologists with the ability to give patients a lesser amount of contrast and still obtain great contrast enhanced studies.

Katherine Bunting-Williams, Ph.D., FMH CEO, states “The men and women of the Hospital Auxiliary are extremely supportive of our mission and vision to improve patient care, which is shown through their fundraising efforts and daily support activities.  We are appreciative of all of their contributions and assistance in purchasing various pieces of equipment to enhance our services and safety for our patients and staff. ”

Also, in recent meetings of the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, they have held an installation ceremony for the 2017-2018 FMH Auxiliary Officers. Charlotte St. Ledger will continue as Director of Volunteer Services, Judy Gruner will serve as Vice President, Phyllis Hilliard as Secretary, and Pat Vaughan as Treasurer.

The Auxiliary Volunteers continue to work at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital welcome desk and gift shop, the Medical Arts Complex welcome desk, as Quilters, along with assisting with Environmental Beautification and Skilled Care Activities. Volunteers are needed in any of these capacities and are especially needed in the desk areas.  If you are interested in becoming a Fairfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary member contact Charlotte St. Ledger at 847-8297.
