The White County 4-H had an excellent turnout for their annual pork chop dinner fundraiser Saturday evening. More than 800 dinners were served during the three-hour fundraiser.With the support from the people in White County, 4-H continues to be a vital part of this community. The monetary support of people buying tickets for the dinner, as well as, the donation of time and materials by others, allows the 4-H members to accomplish many things.

Amy McCarty, the University of Illinois Extension 4-H Coordinator, expressed her thanks to all the people who made this event a great success. She stated, ”The 4-H members, their parents, the club leaders, and other volunteers all came together and worked very hard for many hours to pull everything together.

More than 100 youth, parents, and friends of 4-H assisted throughout the evening or donated supplies and desserts. Money raised by the White Co. 4-H Support Committee, from the pork chop dinner, is used to fund 4-H college scholarships, trip fees, awards, project manuals, t-shirts, ribbons, and various other needs of the White County 4-H members and clubs.
