Carmi Police make three arrests over weekend

Carmi Police arrested 27 year old Robert Belka of Carmi Friday night at the intersection of 5th and Fackney Streets on a White County warrant for retail theft over $300.  Belka was taken into custody at 10:27 pm, and after being searched, officers found a small baggie in Belka’s pocket that contained methamphetamine.  He was then also charged with possession of methamphetamine and transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending a court hearing.

 

Virginia Hughes reported a burglary and theft to Carmi Police Saturday just after 12:30 pm.  Hughes told officers items had been taken from her garage sometime between the first of the year and Saturday.

23 year old Joseph Buckman was arrested by Carmi Police at his NMain Cross Street residence Saturday afternoon on a White County warrant for theft.  Buckman was taken into custody at 3:38 pm and was later released from the White County Jail after posting a $150 bond.

Following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Oak and 7th Streets, Carmi Police arrested 37 year old Linda Mason of Carmi for driving without a valid license.  Mason was transported to the White County Jail at 5:18 pm and was later released after posting a $150 bond.
