On March 2, 2017, at approximately 0810 hours, Mt. Carmel Police received information that a male subject came into Wabash Valley College making statements that were concerning to staff. The male subject left the campus before police arrived on scene.
As a precautionary measure the local schools were placed on lockdown. Police were able to locate the male subject at the Mt. Carmel City Golf Course.
The subject was detained and transported to Wabash General Hospital for treatment.
There is no evidence that the subject presented a threat to the Wabash Valley Staff or any other school. Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.
The name of the subject is being withheld.
