An event to raise awareness about Type 2 Diabetes will be held March 28 in our area. In less than 60 seconds, you can know if you are at risk for developing diabetes. Then participants can receive information about the disease and its prevention and management. Also available will be blood pressure checks, glucose and cholesterol screenings, and a review of individual results with a healthcare provider, all at no charge to the participant. There will be giveaways as well as the opportunity to sign up for upcoming self-management classes.
This event is sponsored by the local Diabetes Today Resource Team and it will be held at three area locations. They include Walmart pharmacy in Harrisburg, Golden Circle in Ridgway, and Plum Street Pharmacy in Carmi. The event is Tuesday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rides Mass Transit is providing transportation to each location at no charge to the public.
