A Princeton, Indiana man has died after Indiana State Police shot him outside a Vincennes gas station. 35 year old David Zimmerman has been identified as the victim. He was wanted on a warrant for a felony parole violation on a manslaughter charge issued earlier this month in Gibson County.
According to the preliminary report, Zimmerman was spotted at the Chuckles in Vincennes just before 9 pm. Troopers in unmarked vehicles tried to block in Zimmerman’s vehicle, and the suspect crashed into one of the police vehicles. Troopers opened fire as Zimmerman reached for a weapon. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died of his injuries. A search of Zimmerman’s truck revealed a handgun.
