Illinois State Police District 19 troopers responded to an accident in Wayne County Tuesday afternoon that sent a teenage driver to the hospital.
According to the preliminary traffic crash report, 53 year old Gregory Stover of Albion was travelling south on Wayne County Road 1100 E when at 4:26 pm he could not slow down in order to prevent a rear end collision. The driver of the second vehicle, a 17 year old male, was transported to an area hospital by the North Wayne Ambulance Service. He was treated for minor injuries and later released.
Stover was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
