Friday night, the White County Sheriff’s Department received information about a wanted person possibly in Carmi and a description of the vehicle he was supposedly traveling in. The vehicle was located and pulled over on Maple Street at 10:48 pm.
The driver of the vehicle, 28 year old Brittany Howder of Sylvania, Georgia was found to be driving on a suspended license and driving an uninsured vehicle. She was transported to the White County Jail, and was later released after posting bond.
A passenger, 28 year old Christian Totten of Calhoun, was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, and released from the scene.
During a search of the vehicle, a wallet containing an ID belonging to Robin Hodgson of Mt. Carmel was found. Hodgson was contacted and told officers that she had reported to the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department that the ID had been stolen. She was able to recover the ID at the White County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday.
The vehicle was towed from the scene by Don’s Bumper to Bumper, the wanted subject was not located.
