White County 4-H G.I.F.T. Garden’s first year of production was a success. Over 140 pounds of produce was picked and distributed to area businesses, senior centers, and food pantries this past summer and early fall. Four new raised beds were added to the existing four beds earlier in October by the use of monetary donations and grants.
Pictured, Brad Braden, Financial Advisor of First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust, recently presented Amy McCarty, Extension Program Coordinator of the 4-H program, a $500.00 donation to be used towards the necessities of the 2017 gardening season.
