Sheriff’s Department investigating Sycamore Street burglaries

Friday morning, White County Sheriff’s deputies took a report of theft on Sycamore Street in Carmi.  Mike Eyman reported that a trailer behind his home was broken into and items taken, including baseball cards.  Tire tracks were noticed behind the trailer, and Eyman reported seeing a vehicle behind the residence with its lights on at 4:27 am.

 

Friday afternoon, Danny Harris reported to deputies that someone had damaged a field he owns after driving through it and doing doughnuts.  Harris also told deputies the suspect had entered a field owned by Tyler Wooten.  No crops were in the field at the time, but the vehicle did create ruts.

 

At 10 am Saturday, Maxine Howell reported to the Sheriff’s Department that someone had kicked in the rear door of her residence on Sycamore Street in Carmi, and had a fireproof safe and two rings taken from a bedroom.  Nothing else in the home was disturbed.

Saturday afternoon, Sheriff’s deputies arrested 32 year old Brian Ball of Omaha after he turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Department on a White County warrant for harassment.  Ball was processed at the White County Jail and released after posting a $150 bond.

Sunday afternoon, 42 year old Gary Perkins of Carmi was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies on a Williamson County warrant for aggressively fleeing a police officer.  Perkins was taken into custody at his residence after a complaint was called into the Department about Perkins by another resident of the home.  Perkins was transported to the White County Jail and is being held on a $500 bond.
