The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
10/05/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 2 passengers in a vehicle being driven by Colt J. Nall, age 25, of Bridgeport after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop it was discovered that a Jeremy Moore, age 33, from Scottsburg, Indiana was in the vehicle and that Moore was wanted on a warrant out of Knox County. During the stop MCPD K-9 Ace and handler Sgt. Perry arrived on scene. K-9 Ace alerted on the vehicle which lead officer’s to believe narcotics were in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle a second passenger was arrested when it was discovered she was in possession of suspected methamphetamine. That passenger was identified as Kathi S. Cessna age 20, of Sumner, Illinois. Cessna was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Moore was arrested on the Knox County warrants and is being held pending extradition to Indiana. The driver of the vehicle was released after receiving a no insurance citation.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 48 year old Gary D. McCoy of Princeton after he was observed walking in the 100 block of W. 6th Street. The arresting officer knew McCoy had a failure to appear warrant out of Wabash County. McCoy was arrested without incident and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested Christina J. Barrett, age 40, of Mt. Carmel after she was observed in the 1100 block of N. Mulberry Street. The arresting officer knew Barrett was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant, a Wabash County body attachment, and a Richland County warrant. Barrett was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was being held pending the posting of $775.00 cash.
