White County law enforcement in conjunction with the Egyptian Health Department have announced a new program designed to get those suffering from drug addiction help in combating their problems.
Entitled C.H.A.N.G.E, the goal according to States Attorney Denton Aud is to Create Hope, Assess Needs, and Give Encouragement.
Aud related to WROY/WRUL News on our Open Line program September 22nd that the program was inspired by activities by other law enforcement agencies and their success in bringing better access to public health programs like those offered by the Egyptian Health Department.
The program is open to anyone over the age of eighteen who are not currently facing criminal charges in relation to drug abuse. Those under eighteen may enroll if accompanied by a legal guardian. Those enrolled in the program can also dispose of drugs or drug paraphernalia at a White County law enforcement office with no criminal charges.
