24 year old Joshua Whitehead was to report to the White County Jail in August to begin serving a sentence of four years after convictions on charges of retail theft and DUI with no valid license, but did not surrender at that time.  The new sentence will run concurrent with the previous sentence, and in addition, Whitehead will be under one year of mandatory supervised release following incarceration.

White County States Attorney Denton Aud said that Whitehead originally was recommended for the Impact Incarceration Program, but with the new conviction, believed that Whitehead would no longer be able to participate.

In a follow up to another case, Aud stated that 81 year old Harold Pennington was released from the White County Jail on Monday into the care and custody of his son.  Pennington was arrested earlier this month by the White County Sheriff’s Department after he was accused of threatening to kill his wife and harm other family members.  As conditions of his release, Pennington is to have no contact with his wife and receive a mental health assessment.
