The White County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of a tombstone from a Norris City cemetery.
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of the theft from Powell Church Cemetery from Billie Jo Turner. Turner stated that her grandparent’s stone marked with the names Claude and Louis Brooks was missing. The last time she saw the tombstone was about six months ago. At that time Turner had also reported another theft from the same cemetery.
