The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
09/10/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested two individuals after a traffic stop in the area 400 block of Ash Street. Trevor L. Mitchell, age 22, of Mt. Carmel was arrested for driving while suspended after police observed him driving a 2005 Chevrolet. During the traffic stop the police found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Mitchell was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Dakota B. Grimes, age 21, of Mt. Carmel was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Grimes was transported to the Wabash County Jail where both were held pending the posting of bond.
09/13/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 62 year old Dennis E. Powell of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped for a registration violation in the 1300 block of Cherry Street. During the traffic stop it was determined that Powell was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Powell was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Powell was held pending the posting of $150.00 cash bond.
