Traffic stop yields two arrests by Carmi PD, third suspect escapes on foot

The Carmi Police Department took a report of damage to a truck on Wednesday afternoon.  Veda Clark reported that around two weeks ago, someone made multiple scratches on her GMC pickup truck while it was parked at her residence.

Carmi officers arrested a New Haven woman on a White County warrant following a traffic stop early Thursday.  At 12:46am, officers pulled over 51 year old Heather Al Radaideh at the intersection of Main and Ninth Streets and took her into custody on a warrant for battery.  Radaideh was also charged with driving without a valid license and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.  She was transported to the White County Jail and later released after posting a $150 bond.

Two individuals were arrested by Carmi officers early Tuesday, but a third wanted man escaped on foot following a traffic stop.  At 2:46am, officers stopped a vehicle driven by 28 year old Tara Keown of McLeansboro at the intersection of Main and 1st Streets.   Keown was arrested on a Hamilton County warrant and was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  A passenger, 27 year old Nickolas Hays of Carmi was also taken into custody on a White County warrant for aggravated battery.

A third individual, 24 year old Levi Williams of Enfield, who is wanted on White County charges of methamphetamine possession, was able to escape on foot.  Authorities are searching for his whereabouts.

Keown and Hays were both transported to the White County Jail.  Keown was released after posting a $150 bond, while Hays remains in custody on a $500 bond.
