White County EMA receives grant from state agency

White County’s Emergency Management Agency is getting a shot in the arm as the recipient of one of 120 grants announced Tuesday by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

White County will receive $14,197.65 as part of $4 million dollars awarded by the state agency.  The funds come from a grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and can be used for day to day operations as well as local preparedness and response programs.

Other local agencies receiving grants include Wayne, Wabash, Hamilton, Gallatin, and Hardin Counties. The award amounts were determined by a base amount plus a population based formula.
