Carmi woman sentenced to four years in White County Court

White County States Attorney Denton Aud announced that on Wednesday, 37 year old April D Spoonemore of Carmi was sentenced to four years in Illinois Department of Corrections custody after being found guilty on two charges. spoonmore april 6-28-16

Spoonemore was convicted on one count of theft and one count of possession of methamphetamine by Judge T. Scott Webb.  The two charges each carry a four year prison term, which will run concurrently.  Spoonemore originally was given probation on the theft charge, which was revoked following the charge of possession.

In addition, Spoonemore was ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, costs, and assessments and will be under mandatory court supervised release for one year following incarceration.  Spoonemore was defended by Public Defender Brian Shinkle and both cases were investigated by the Carmi Police Department.
