“It was one of those days that make you proud to live in the Midwest.”…that’s what one of one of the Petroleum Department Managers said about the June 24th Fueling Freedom events held across Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. More than 40 CountryMark branded fueling stations participated in the event donating 50 cents from every gallon of fuel pumped to local National Guard Family Readiness Groups.
Local Department Manager for SynEnergy Partners organized the event Iin McLeansboro where WRUL had a hand in promoting. Of the 43 participating stations, Illinois Pit Stop Iin McLeansboro led the way with 5,425 gallons sold during the event. “Thanks to tremendous community support, the general public kept us busy all afternoon” says South. At 5pm, when the event was supposed to end, there were still lines of cars and trucks waiting to buy fuel.
More than $64,000 was raised to support National Guard Family Readiness Groups. Stations increased sales by 25% over last year. This was the 8th year CountryMark brands have hosted Fueling Freedom events.
