Two convicted in White County Court on Wednesday

Two convictions were handed down in White County Court on Wednesday according to States Attorney Denton Aud.

21 year old Robert Worley of Norris City was sentenced to four years in Department of Corrections custody and two years of mandatory supervised release on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.   Worley was recommended to serve his sentence in the Impact Incarceration Program also known as bootcamp, and was ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, and assessments, as well as make restitution to his victim.

As a result of the plea agreement, charges of theft and resisting a peace officer were dismissed.  The case against Worley was investigated by the Norris City Police Department with assistance from the White County Sheriff’s Department.

40 year old Carie Strean of Carmi was found guilty on two counts of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, and received a prison term of twelve years and two years of mandatory supervised release on each count.  The two sentences will run concurrently.  Strean was also ordered to pay $9,150 in mandatory fines, fees, costs and assessments.

Strean’s arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force along with the White County Sheriff’s Department, Carmi Police Department, and the Illinois State Police.
