A Shelbyville man was sentenced in abstentia in Edwards County court on Friday to eight years in prison according to States Attorney Michael Valentine.
Shaun D. Carl received the prison term to be served in Illinois Department of Corrections custody on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. In addition, Carl will be under one year of Mandatory Supervised Release following incarceration. Carl was also sentenced to a 364 day jail sentence for a charge of driving on a revoked license. The Grayville Police Department handled the investigation.
Because Carl did not show up to the sentencing hearing, Judge David Frankland issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest. Anyone with information about Carl’s whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement or the Illinois State Police.
