The Carmi Police Department made an arrest on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call about a driver passed out behind the wheel at the Dollar General store.  Officers responded to the scene just after 1:30pm and found 45 year old Annmarie Lindsey unresponsive.  The White County Ambulance service also responded, but Lindsey refused transportation to a hospital after regaining consciousness.

Lindsey was charged with Driving under the influence of drugs and transported to the White County Jail.  Her vehicle was towed from the lot by Cherry Street Towing.

An Olney woman was arrested by Carmi Police early Wednesday morning for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.  Officers pulled over 22 year old Samantha Simpson at the intersection of Main and 6th Streets after an improper stop.  A records check showed Simpson did not have current insurance, and a subsequent search turned up the illegal items.

Simpson was transported to the White County Jail and was later released after posting bond.  Don’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

Just after 8pm Wednesday night, 27 year old James Earl was taken into custody by Carmi Police at his residence on a White County warrant for battery.  Earl was taken to the White County Jail and released after posting a $150 bond.
