Carmi Police arrested 36 year old Kristal McWhirter on Friday at her residence on Stewart Street on a White County warrant for criminal trespass to a residence. McWhirter was taken into custody at 1:20pm and transported to the White County Jail where she posted a $150 bond and was released.
Later Friday, Tara Johnson reported to Carmi Police that between 1:30 and 2pm that day, someone entered her 4th Street residence and stole a 55” Sony television and a 42” Samsung television. Johnson signed a complaint of burglary and theft just after 3:30pm.
On Saturday, David Rich informed city police that someone had forcibly entered a building he owned on N. 3rd Street and had stolen a green go-cart and power tools. Rich estimated the total value of the missing items at over $1800 and signed a criminal complaint for burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property. Rich told officers that the break in had occurred sometime between February 13th and the 26th.
On Sunday, Ashley Duckworth requested a Carmi officer to meet her at 914 W Fackney Street to take a report of criminal damage to property. Duckworth met with an officer at 6:30 pm and stated that between 7pm Saturday and 11:30 am Sunday, someone flattened the rear tires of her vehicle and signed a criminal complaint.
