
The Carmi-White County Baseball team defeated Edwards County Thursday afternoon by a final score of 5-4.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning on a solo home run by Maxon O’Daniel, his first of the season and second of his career.
The Lions would answer with 2 in the 3rd to take a 2-1 lead.
Carmi answered back with 3 in the 3rd inning on RBI singles by Cade Allen and Ty Hollingsworth, taking a 4-2 lead.
Edwards County plated 1 in the home 3rd, but the Dogs would get one back on an RBI single by Gavin Holloman, making it a 5-3 Bulldog lead.
Edwards County scored another in the 6th, but that would be it.
Travor Mason picked up the win on the mound, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits with 8 strikeouts through 5 ⅔ innings. Merick Millhorn pitched the final 1 ⅓ inning, striking out two batters to secure the 5-4 victory.
