The Carmi-White County Baseball team traveled to Hardin County yesterday afternoon for a non-conference battle against the Cougars, and the game ended in a 5-5 tie. The game was called after 6 innings due to darkness.
Gavin Holloman led the way offensively for the Bulldogs, he went 2-for-4 at the plate which included his first home run of the season.
Hayden Sauls, Mitchel Edwards, Travor Mason, and Tyson Spicer all picked up base hits.
The Bulldogs are now 3-3-1 on the season, they will have the rest of the week off. Their next game will be on Monday when they host Red Hill at Eckerle Park.
The Carmi-White County Softball team fell to Carterville on the road yesterday by a final score of 11-5.
The Lady Bulldogs trailed 9-0 before they were able to score 4 runs in the top of the 5th inning to make it a 9-4 game, but that would be as close as they would get.
Mia Evans went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
Alayna Johnson went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Caroline Simmons went 3-for-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.
Ashlyn Rager went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 2-2 on the season. They will be back in action on Friday as they host Benton at Archie Brown Field. Fans can listen to Friday’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL. Carmi will then travel to Fairfield on Saturday for the Fairfield Invitational Tournament.
