Special Board Meeting to Discuss Community Center

The Enfield Village Board held a special meeting Tuesday night for the purpose of discussing rules for using the Enfield Community Center, formerly known as the Booth School.  Scott Mareing was there and has this report…

It was basically an approximately 90 minute bull session to determine what is needed for the public to be able to use the facility and leave it in good condition for others to enjoy it as well. There were only a small handful of visitors, most likely due to the very rainy weather.

A “Use of Facility” agreement was drawn up containing rules the public need to go by in order to hold an event there.  It was stressed that this is a preliminary agreement that will be in effect only until the next regularly scheduled monthly board meeting, which will be held next Tuesday, March 11th at 7 PM.

The board did add to this temporary agreement a $200 deposit for any event held, with the deposit to be returned if you leave things the way they were when you came in, as well as adding a couple of other items.

A separate set of rules will be made for larger events, and the final rules for use of the Community Center will potentially be approved at next week’s meeting.

After we receive the final set of rules approved by the board next week, we’ll post them on our website at wrul.com.

The meeting adjourned at 8:39 PM.
